Be a Gem and Share your "Guys"
As a new mom time is like a rare jewel. When I get a spare moment do you know what I like to do? I like to watch an old movie, or paint my nails, or read. You know what I don’t like to do? Search online for someone to come fix my broken cabinet hinge. Which I need by the way, can you fix it?
Whenever I’ve needed to find a new “guy” (I call all my vendors my “guys”, yep even the ladies) I’ve always turned to Yelp. Yelp has served me well over the years. But lately I’ve started to question the star review system. A few ill-gotten 1’s can really screw up a rating and I won’t even LOOK at anything with lower than a 4. And you know what, most of these people don’t even know what I like or value in a “guy.”
So, MrBurritoLover345 you booked an appointment with Ginger the hairstylist and she didn’t know how to do your signature buzz cut? Well that doesn’t matter to me because I’m looking for some Bettie bangs and color. See what I mean?
Nowadays I have even less time for MrBurritoLover345 and his 1 star reviews. When I became pregnant I found a great new doctor and pediatrician but not without a lot of searching.
But you know what I need now? A cabinet guy to fix our broken hinge. Remember? So do I go back to Yelp and Google? Nope! I’ve totally got this whole finding a “guy” thing sorted now. I met GemShare and now I want you to meet them too! Then you can get back to enjoying a glass of wine with your free time.
GemShare is a handy little app on your phone that you can go to and find all your new “guys”. You join groups and ask for recommendations, or “gems” and you can share your own. You have to share, otherwise it’s not fair, see. I know we all love to keep our hairdresser a secret in case they get overrun and you can’t get an appointment but sharing is caring.
Groups are made up of people you know or you can join some new groups and meet new people. Look new “guys” and new friends all in one app! Amazing!
The best part is that you can ask for exactly what you need. If MrBurritoLover345 had used GemShare instead of typing "hair stylist" into Yelp he could have asked his friends and groups for "a hairstylist that rules at buzz cuts" and he would have gotten just that!

Post baby ooh la la
Why oh why did no one tell me about this range of post-partum and nursing lingerie 11 mths ago??? I have some cute cotton polka dot nursing bras but they still feel very BLEGH. I would have snapped all of these up in a heartbeat!
The queen of vintage style Dita Von Teese has added some va-va-voom for new moms with these additions to her already stunning lingerie range. The prices seem to hover in the $40 range which is pretty normal for "nice" nursing bras. Even better, the sizes go all the way up to "F"!
I love this lace sleeper!
This is a great every day option that will help you feel a little more ooh-la-la and less blegh. This would actually be great to wear under vintage dresses. Those shapeless cotton ones just don't work!
This one makes me so happy. I never thought I would say that about a nursing bra. HAH. I mean WOAH MAMA!
And the award for sexiest post-partum shaper (did you EVER dream you'd hear those words?) goes to....
LACE! POLKA DOTS! BOWS! Give it to me!
